Drone Photography Is Not Just for Real Estate Listings

Aerial imagery is really about context

Drone photography became closely associated with real estate, but the value extends well beyond home listings.

Any business whose location, land, venue or surrounding environment matters can benefit from seeing the property from above.

Venues can show scale

A country club, resort, campus or event venue can use aerial photographs to show the relationship between buildings, outdoor spaces, parking, landscaping and surrounding scenery.

That context is difficult to communicate from the ground.

Commercial properties can show access and environment

Developers, property managers and architects may need imagery that shows the building in relationship to roads, neighboring development or landscape design.

Aerial video can also create smooth establishing shots for a larger corporate film.

Golf courses and outdoor businesses are natural fits

From the ground, a fairway is one experience. From the air, viewers can understand the design and scale of the course. The same idea applies to marinas, recreation facilities, construction sites and large campuses.

Neutral-density filters such as a DJI drone ND filter set can be useful for controlling exposure during video in bright conditions when they match the specific drone model.

Safety and planning come first

Aerial work requires checking airspace, weather, property permissions and the environment around the flight area. The most cinematic movement is never worth compromising safety or compliance.

Use the aerial content across the campaign

One flight can create website hero footage, still photographs, social clips and establishing shots for longer edits. That makes drone coverage especially useful when it is integrated into a larger commercial production.

If your Connecticut property, venue or business is difficult to understand from ground level alone, I can help determine whether aerial photography or video would add useful context to the story.
